The R2R Accountant is responsible for performing key activities within the record-to-report process to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role involves preparing journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts, supporting month-end closing, and collaborating across teams to drive compliance and process improvements. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in general ledger accounting within an ERP environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post standard, recurring, and adjusting journal entries (e.g. accruals, prepaids, reclasses).

• Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations and resolve open items.

• Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate results.

• Analyze P&L and balance sheet variances and provide explanations for significant movements.

• Maintain and update the chart of accounts and support master data integrity.

• Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and work on eliminations.

• Support fixed asset accounting, including capitalization, disposals, and depreciation.

• Assist in ensuring compliance with accounting policies (e.g., US GAAP/IFRS/local GAAP) and internal controls.

• Provide audit support by preparing documentation and responding to auditor queries.

• Identify and participate in process improvements to optimize R2R activities.

• Collaborate with AP, AR, Tax, and other finance teams for accurate reporting and reconciliations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Certification preferred (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CA) but not required.

• 2–5 years of relevant experience in general ledger or record-to-report accounting.

• Strong understanding of accounting principles (US GAAP/IFRS/local GAAP).

• Proficiency with accounting systems or ERP platforms (such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite).

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills to work in cross-functional teams.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience in a shared services or multinational company is a plus.
