The position

The Head of Medical Affairs International Markets will serve as a therapeutic and disease area expert who is responsible for the Medical Affairs strategy development and structured, consistent and strategically aligned medical engagement across International Markets. International Markets in ALK covers all territories outside Europe and North America. The primary focus is Asia, Middle East and Latin America. The International Markets team is small and diverse with people sitting all over the world and currently covering 12 different native languages. You will be reporting directly to SVP International Markets, Morten Essendrop.

Your primary tasks will be:

Medical Strategy Development

• Responsible for the Medical Affairs strategy and plan for International Markets, leveraging learnings and best practices from Region Europe and Region US Medical Affairs.

• Ensure consistency between strategies, communication and messaging within ALK and across partners allowing for local adaption.

• Support partners with medical expertise and education on ALK products.

• Accountable for publication planning (including congress abstracts, poster presentations, manuscripts) working in close collaboration with local teams and Global Medical Affairs.

External Medical Representation

• Define stakeholder engagement strategies and develop professional relationships with thought leaders to ensure education and scientific communication on ALK products and therapeutic areas of interest. Lead scientific and external engagement strategy for International Markets.

• Represent ALK as medical expert and speaker at selected international congresses, advisory boards, partner meetings and scientific events within International Markets.

• Act as a senior medical ambassador for ALK in key International Markets.

Your profile

We expect that you are a medical doctor with the following qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of the immunology field, strong presentation skills and scientific expertise. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with allergy treatment including allergen specific immunotherapy.

• Knowledge of Medical Affairs standards and processes.

• Ability to develop Medical Affairs strategies and tactical plans.

• Build and interact with a network of allergy/immunology experts, partners and represent ALK in scientific and medical matters. Capable of conducting doctoral level discussions with key customers.

• Ability to collaborate with Global Medical Affairs, and Commercial Operations functions locally and globally. Working in a matrix environment.
